In the past, people predicted that the coming years will be more advanced . They believed that people can fly then worked on it. In conclusion they came up with airplanes. Then, people assumed that they will be able to enjoy flying cars till the 2020’s. Well, it seems that those fantasies might come true in the coming years.
The U.S. just certified its first fully electric flying car. A flying car or roadable aircraft is a type of vehicle which can function both as a road vehicle and as an aircraft. As used here, this includes vehicles which drive as motorcycles when on the road. The fun part is, it is an electric vehicle. So people don’t have to use fossil fuels for these flying cars.
The Federal Aviation Administration has certified for testing a vehicle that a California startup describes as a flying car — the first fully electric vehicle that can both fly and travel on roads to receive US government approval.
The culmination of leading-edge automotive and aerospace design and engineering, advanced materials, luxury features, and impeccable styling, the AeroMobil does what no supercar or private jet can do. It can seamlessly transform from car to aircraft – from driving to flying – in under three minutes.
Alef Aeronautics, a startup in San Mateo, California, just received the FAA’s Special Airworthiness Certification for its Model A flying car. The company, which has yet to announce a delivery date, is asking for a $150 deporting on the $300,000 Model A. The vehicle features a drone-like internal propellers and a promised range of 200 miles over land and 110 in the air. The certification notes that this is not the first aircraft of its kind, but Alef claims primacy as the first driveway-friendly, road-going EV with vertical take-off and landing capabilities. The flying car has arrived—to the next development phase.
It is true that those cars need a lot of testing but it can also be believed that it won’t be available for all the people as it can cost more than other cars. But it also fulfills the fantises of people to see a flying car.
On October 21, Sweden’s Jetson Aero launched the Jetson One, a single-seat flying car with 20- minute flight times and a top speed of about 63 mph. It has already sold all 12 of the electric vehicles in its first production run (to be delivered in fall 2022), and it’s now taking orders for 2023.The vehicles will be delivered about 50% assembled, and customers must finish putting them together themselves.
Today, more than 150 companies are developing some versions of a flying car, and though designs vary, most are electric vehicles that take off and land vertically like helicopters (eVTOLs).
Also, the estimated price of these cars is said to be $92,000 which is a lot. so, only few of the people can buy one of these cars. But the question is “will the price of these cars be cheaper and the people will be able to buy these cars in future“?
It is also said that the flying cars will function like a normal car but if the traffic gets worse then the people can use this car by making it fly to get somewhere on time as it is said that these cars can transform into flying ones in just under 3 minutes. Not only that but the data also conforms that we can get the license of these flying cars if we have the license of flying drones.
Not only that, the Simpsons also had already predicted about flying cars in one of their episodes.
