Munjya.

Makers of Stree bring to you Munjya, the perfect blend of comedy and horror to beat the summer heat for Gen Z, kids, and the whole family.

A young man’s visit to his native village unveils a family secret and a vengeful spirit, Munjya, who wants to get married. Now the young man must fight to protect himself and his love from Munjya’s clutches leading to a humorously chaotic and terrifying adventure. But the adventures becomes a mic of comedy and horror experiences.

The apperance of the ghost(Munjya) is rather funny than scary. It is a weird looking child with a green bodied CGI character who wears a brown half pant. How ironic isn’t it? The thought of it is rather funny to imagine. The ghost is also a very funny character with weird sense of humor that is more than enough to connect with the audiences and make the theater a laughing room.

The story starts back in 1952, in Konkan village a little boy Gotya wanted to marry Munni who was much elder to him and takok help of black magic but dies in an accident when his sister Geeta tries to stop him. Villagers believe that Gotya will return as an evil Munjya as he died within fifteen days of his Mundan and tie his soul to a tree where he collapsed.

In present time, Bittu gets frequent hallucinations of a tree, he travels to village along with his mother Pammi and grandmother for his cousins engagement.Bittu has a tiff with his uncle Balu and goes to haunted Chetukwadi where lies the mystery of his father’s death and sees the same tree and Munjya captures his body. His grandmother finds about Bittu being at Chetukwadi and goes to save him she tells him that Munjha was once her brother who wanted to marry a elder women. But next moment his grandmother gets killed by Munjya, Pammi and Bittu to get back to their house in Pune after last rites of his grandmother.

But Munjya follows Bittu everywhere and makes his life hell asking him to find Munni.Bittu with the help of his cousins Rukku and Spielberg find Munni whose grandmother of his secret love Bela. But Munjya does not stop here and now swears to marry Bela instead of Munni.

Overall, the movie is a mixture of comedy and horror with a pinch of sadness involved in it which is more than enough to hook the audiences and make them feel connected. The storylines and dialouges are also very good. The movie also shows a strong bonds between the family and teaches the audience the importance of friends in one’s life. The story is much more than fascinating and feels like an exact copy of the folk tales that our grandmother used to share when we were young. It felt like our past selves are enjoying the folk tales narrated by our family members and thus is a very connective feeling in our lives.

The makers of this movies have created a lot of masterpieces like stree and so. on but now it feels that the list had been updated with new features i.e this movie.

The main actor, Abhay Verma has done an outstanding performance in this movie. The expressions and dialouges are on point and has done a very good work. His dedication is also one of the main reason that this movie will reach its peak and hence, Munjya box office collection day 8: The Sharvari movie released in theatres on June 7.
