Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, also known as (Nepal) is a beautIful country situated in the south Asia. It is also called the land of gorkhalis and Gurkhas. It is a landlocked country as it is surrounded by the India and the China.It occupies an area from 26 ° 20′ to 30* 10′ north latitude and 800 15′ to 88 ° 19′ east longitude. Its capital city is Kathmandu. It`s official language is Nepali but people speak more than 129 langauges here. There are 125 cultures followed here. Gautam Buddha was born here.

Though it is smaller in comparison of both the country but no country can beat the natural beauty of Nepal due to its diverse culture, tradition, langauges and so.on as it contains greenary and mountains too so, it is also referred to as the ‘Switzerland of Asia’.

Nepal is also unique because of its flag. it has triangular shaped flag.

The Spiny Babbler is the only endemic bird species in Nepal.

The crimson red is Nepal’s national color, and it indicates the brave spirits of the Nepalese people. The two triangles symbolize the Himalaya Mountains and represent the two major religions, Hinduism and Buddhism. The red triangular flag has been a Hindu symbol of victory since the time of Ramayana and Mahabharata.

SYMBOL OF NEPAL: It contains the flag of Nepal, Mount Everest, green hills symbolising the hilly regions of Nepal and yellow colour symbolising the fertile Terai region, male and female hands joining to symbolise gender equality, and a garland of Rhododendron (the national flower) also called Lali Guransh (लाली गुराँश).

Out of the top 10 most highest peak of the world, 8 lies in Nepal including, Mt.Kangchenjunga, Mt. Lhostse , Mt. Makalu, Mt. Cho oyu, Mt.Manaslu, Mt.Gyachung kang, Mt.Annapurna, and the highest peak of the world i.e Mount Everest.

HISTORY OF NEPAL:

The history of nepal starts when the king of Gorkha, Prithivi Narayan Shah thought of uniting all the kingdoms and places and form a country. He had to face a lot of trouble including not having enough arm forces, weapons, peoples but eventually due to the support of his people his sons, grandchildrens and then they managed to unify all the kingdoms into a singular country called Nepal.

GEOGRAPHY:

Nepal is mainley divided into three parts according to its Geography and those parts are called Himal (HIMALAYAN REGION) , Pahad(HILLY REGION) and Terai region( THE PLANES OF NEPAL):

HIMAL(HIMALAYAN) REGION: Himal Region is a mountainous region containing snow. The Mountain Region begins where high ridges (Nepali: लेक; lekh) begin substantially rising above 3,000 metres (10,000 ft) into the subalpine and alpine zone which are mainly used for seasonal pasturage.

PAHAD(HILLY) REGION:The hilly region lies in the central part of Nepal and is less developed than the Terai but more developed than Himalaya. South of the Himalayan Mountain Region lies the complex zone of hills, valleys, basins and low tablelands of varying altitude and magnitude.

TERAI (PLANES) REGION:The Terai or Tarai is a lowland region in northern India and southern Nepal that lies south of the outer foothills of the Himalayas, the Sivalik Hills, and north of the Indo-Gangetic Plain. This lowland belt is characterised by tall grasslands, scrub savannah, sal forests and clay rich swamps.

ADMINISTRATIVE AREA:

The country covers an area of 147,181 km², which is slightly larger than 1.5 times the size of Portugal or somewhat larger than the U.S. state of Arkansas. Nepal has a multi-ethnic population of 30.3 million (2021). The largest city and the national capital is Kathmandu.

ADMINISTRATIVE REGIONS: Nepal is divided into 3 regions, 14 zones, 7 provinces, 75 districts and 3 regions.

TOURISM: Tourism is the largest industry in Nepal and its largest source of foreign exchange and revenue. Possessing eight of the ten highest mountains in the world, Nepal is a hot spot destination for mountaineers, rock climbers and people seeking adventure.
