Dogs are one of the most popular pets in the world. These domesticated animals are descended from a species of wolves. These four legged creatures are very faithful, obedient, loving, kind and caring. Dogs are one of the first animals to be domesticated, they’ve been man’s faithful companions for over 40,000 years! There are hundreds of breeds of dogs in the world. While each breed is different from the other in appearance, all of them belong to the same species, Canis Familiaris so, Its scientific name is (Canis familiaris or Canis lupus familiaris)

It is a domesticated descendant of the wolf. Also called the domestic dog, it is derived from extinct Pleistocene wolves, and the modern wolf is the dog’s nearest living relative. The dog was the first species to be domesticated by humans. Hunter-gatherers did this, over 15,000 years ago in Germany, which was before the development of agriculture. Due to their long association with humans, dogs have expanded to a large number of domestic individuals and gained the ability to thrive on a starch-rich diet that would be inadequate for other canids.

Dogs are really playful and nice to play with them and pet them. But they are really hard to take care of. So you need lots of responsibilities if you are going to get a dog. All across the world, people have dogs as pets. From people living in a high-rise apartment in a large city or people living in a cabin in the middle of the woods, dogs have seemed to make their ways into the homes of all demographics of people. The question remains then, “why?” Why do people volunteer time and money to care for an animal who doesn’t make any money and is unable to care for themselves? Despite all these factors, millions of people around the globe take pets into their homes .

Dogs are not just pets, they’re like family members. These highly intelligent animals are extremely useful for humans. They can be trained to perform several tasks and some dogs even hold modern jobs like us humans. Here is a list of some ways that dogs are extremely useful to humans

Dogs are also known to be an extremely intelligent creatures. They can sense a person’s state of mind, read emotions and provide support accordingly. They also bark, when they’re excited or angry. Dogs have a strong sense of smell and are known to never forget anyone they encounter because of this characteristic. They are also capable of taking care of a depressed person and fully able to do so. They also works as a service dog which means they give support to the people who have physical or mental disabilities too.

Medical diagnosis- Dogs can even assist in medical diagnoses. They can sense early signs of Parkinson’s disease, oncoming epileptic seizures, diabetes and even several types of cancer.

Dogs use their tails to express happiness, joy, sadness or alertness. They wag their tails to show that they’re happy and when they’re angry or alert, their tails remain upright without wagging. People tend to think they do not understand many of the commands and tend to ignore most of it but little do they know, the dogs can actually a very smart animals. They are fully capable of understanding a human’s behavior, their words or actions too. They tend to get excited to see their loved ones and wag their tails. They tend to be emotional and scared if their loved ones slightly raise their voices at them and tend to express their sadness by looking away from them.

Dogs are a great gift to mankind and are truly man’s best friends. They should be treated with love, kindness, respect and should be cared for well.
